SOUNDS
It would seem that one of the most obvious things to find on a recording studio Web site is audio. With current day Internet technology, this poses more of a problem than you might think. On the one hand, we could just make CD-quality sound samples available to you at the click of a mouse. Unfortunately, it would take far too long to deliver the massive amount of digital data needed for even a 30-second sample (5 megabytes). Another option is low-fidelity mono sound samples. The same 30-second sample still weighs in at about a half a megabyte. With both of these scenarios, you can't even hear the audio until the entire data file is received. Liquid Audio is the best solution but too expensive for us to utilize at this time.

After weighing the possibilities, we've opted for Shockwave Streaming Audio format. The files are small, they start playing after a few seconds, and the audio is mono but good enough to give you an idea. Shockwave is the most popular plug-in for Web browsers. If you don't currently have it or need an update for the streaming audio functionality, get Shockwave here.

The speed of your system and clarity of connection affect the performance of streaming audio. Should you encounter any interruption of the sound stream, wait for the music to finish (there's a progress bar on the player) and then play it again. It should play without any interruption.

Of course, if you like what you hear, make an effort to get ahold of the real deal and listen in full stereophonic hi-fi splendor! Ordering information is included with each sample.

Enjoy...
