ANGEL of MUSIC Composer and fine artist, CAROL WORTHEY, was chosen to decorate one of the Angels that graced Los Angeles last year--and decorate, she did--with both paint and music! The music was recorded here and converted into a digital file for playback in a special mounting base. The Angel of Music was featured at the Music Center courtyard where thousands of visitors experienced the visual and musical presentation first-hand. The Angel was sold at auction and will be on display at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles. Randall Michael Tobin filmed and directed a video of the Angel of Music which can be seen and heard at either of the following links. Choose the appropriate speed for your connection and enjoy! The file will download completely before playing and thereafter will be on your hard disk where it can be played again at your choosing (the files are named "angel300.rm" and "angel56.rm"). For 56k modem users, you may choose the high-speed file and it will play correctly but it will take longer to download. The files require RealPlayer or Windows Media Player to be viewed.

| Film composer SHARON FARBER recorded strings, woodwinds and piano cues for an independent film, "The Painting." She later brought the L.A. Shir Choir (pictured above with Sharon conducting) here to record and conduct a selection of Hebrew/Israeli songs including some of her new arrangements. Most recently, Israeli poet Danny Israely had his lyrics set to music with Sharon writing the music for "With God's Will," a song and arrangement in the spirit of "We Are the World," and Maya Haddi-Zebley penning the music for "My Country" and "Recipe for Eternal Love." The sessions were high-spirited and diverse with elements ranging from 48 tracks of instruments and vocals to a simple piano vocal live rendition with some Middle Eastern percussion and didgeridoo landing somewhere in the middle! After recently completing the music for the recently premiered film short, "The Brothers Grim," Sharon is already working on her next film project, an independent feature entitled "Running at Midnight." |
