The musical score for The Snow Queen was composed, performed and recorded by Randall Michael Tobin during autumn of 1998. For the next series of performances it was revised, enhanced and remixed in autumn of 1999. In 2007, new music was created specially for the role of Kai. And in 2008/2009, new arrangements and orchestrations replaced several of the original music cues. Randall's music combines the tradition of orchestra with ethnic instruments and modern elements, supporting the memorable melodic themes. The Snow Queen soundtrack CD is featured in the 42nd Annual Grammy Awards entry book, under the category of Best Classical Contemporary Composition.
